First, the initial rule would be that when a your vehicle or light van has failed its MOT, the applicable amount of time for any recommended repair to be accomplished and any pursuing re-test is just 10 business days after your first test date. This holds true provided that the vehicle or light commercial vehicle has been remedied and accordingly registered to have a re-test prior to the end of 10 trading days. If all of the above is true, in that case the computerised MOT test software that all MOT garages use would, at this juncture, allow us to register the vehicle and perform the re-test.
Thereafter it therefore follows that the second procedure tends to be that in the course of an MOT re-examination it's all too often the case that a small number of items could be tested again quickly yet on the flip side some components mandate considerably more measured evaluation.
For illustration;
Crawley MOT only offers free MOT retests for any vehicle which failed its MOT providing the work is carried out by us.
If you decide to take your vehicle away to be repaired elsewhere, Crawley MOT will charge you a partial test fee which is half of the full price of an MOT (half of £54.85).
IMPORTANT - assuming your vehicle fails get through the MOT examination with us here at Crawley VOSA MOT testing centre and is afterwards repaired by us, then it follows that we can generally conduct the retest FREE (i.e. free of charge), that is our thanks to you for selecting to benefit from our Crawley VOSA MOT test centre workshops.
If you want added explanation, then what follows is a range of the gratis retest items (if the car failed the MOT over these kinds of areas then a fast track retest may very well be undertaken).
